Review: Crazy About Love by Cassie Mae

Crazy About Love is the third book in the All About Love series but can be read as a stand alone. I did have the opportunity to read the first two books and needless to say, I was excited to finally know Alec and Theresa's story. Unrequited love and friends to lovers always make for good reading.

The first half of this book was told from Alec's point of view, jumping between past and present. The second half of the book was Theresa's point of view, again jumping between past and present. Let me start off by saying that I love alternating points of view and stories that go back to help tell the story. Unfortunately I did not like it so much in this book. Because it told all of Alec's point of view first and then Theresa's, the reader had to sit through the present story twice. It wouldn't have been so bad except the present story was nowhere near as good as the past leading up to it. It would have worked so much better if the point of view alternated between chapters. I wouldn't have felt like I was re-reading the same story. Also, I found the Alec/Rian parts more than a little boring. The past story was definitely the highlight in this book for me.

As far as the characters went, I liked both Alec and Theresa although they weren't perfect. Alec was sweet and kind and generous and loyal and perhaps just slightly too perfect in a good guy kind of way. There were no dark edges or bad boy bits to him at all. Theresa was funny and loyal, confused and slightly messed up but it worked in the friendship that the two of them had.

Over all, this book delivered exactly what it intended. A fluffy and entertaining romance with some comical relief and a whole lot of sexual tension. All of the original characters from this series have now had their story so I'm not sure what will come next. Perhaps Rian will have her say? I'll be keeping an eye out for that.
