Review: Flawed by Tracy Wolff

The bestselling Ethan Frost series introduces a tantalizing new hero—and the broken woman only he can save. Discover why Beth Kery once declared that readers of Tracy Wolff will “fall in love under the spell of a master.”

When Tori Reed loses everything, he sets her free.

I told myself I’d never trust Miles Girard, no matter how brilliant or sexy he may be. His sister, Chloe—Ethan Frost’s wife—is my best friend, but I know just how low Miles will stoop to get what he wants. Now he’s the last thing I want: my boss.

Growing up, I had it all—except for the sense that I belonged. And when a mistake from my past surfaces in the press, my parents don’t hesitate to cut me off.

But surprisingly, Miles offers me a helping hand.

Before I know it, our relationship turns unprofessional in the hottest ways. Of course, he still drives me crazy. But when I’m dealt the ultimate blow, Miles is there for me. And maybe he’s the one I’ve been looking for all along.

Kristine's Thoughts:

** I received an advanced readers copy from Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**

Flawed is the fourth book in the Ethan Frost series but can be read as a stand alone. I did not have the opportunity to read the previous books and it did not impact my enjoyment or my understanding. It did however peak my interest and I think I may have to go back and read them. I want to know Chloe and Ethan's story.

Tori was a trust fund socialite who was trying to clean up her act and plan for her future. Miles was her best friend Chloe's brother with his own ghosts. They were two very different people with one thing in common. They hated each other. When Tori found herself in the centre of a sex tape scandal and circumstances left her without anywhere to go, she landed under the same roof as the man she despised.

It wasn't hard to see what direction the book was headed. There is a fine line between love and hate and Tori and Miles were not very good at balancing that line. In fact it took no time at all before the sexual chemistry took over and was dripping off the pages. Fans of explicit sexual content need look no farther. This book definitely had it covered. My only complaint would be the extremely detailed kissing. At times I found myself telling the book to get on with it. I like kissing as much as the next person but it was endlessly described in this book on more than one occasion.

When I first picked up this book I was a little worried that it was the fourth book in a series. The fact that I hadn't read the others I thought might work to my advantage. I had nothing to compare it to. My initial thoughts were quite positive. I really felt for Tori and I liked her spunk and I absolutely loved Miles. Their chemistry was good and I liked them together. However, my feelings started to change towards Tori towards the end of the book. I found her whiny and unappreciative, she contradicted herself and had an unbearable double standard. She accused Miles of doing things behind her back and not letting her do things on her own when she was doing a big fat NOTHING. She got mad at him for his "hand outs" but was OK with the handouts from Chloe and Ethan which included a job and a place to live. She wore on my last nerve which was very unfortunate. Throughout it all I still loved Miles.

My rating on this book is 100% because of how I felt about Tori towards the end. If I was basing it on the first three quarters it would have been much higher.

About the Author

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:
Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.
